Pumpkin Picking

Fall in Ohio is gorgeous, simply gorgeous.  By the pictures you can't tell that it was a little chilly the day we decided to go pumpkin picking.

We found this cute little grasshopper as soon as we got out of the car.  Addie was simply fascinated by him and as soon as she tried to catch him, he was gone.

Graham was having a bad day.  No smiles out of the kid but he did eventually get out of the wagon and start exploring.

Addie was in heaven.  Simply loved every minute.

Sourpuss finally made it out of his mommy drawn carriage to interact with us peasants.

Loved every moment.  

Though you cannot tell.

This girl has her moments of "ew gross, dirt" but she wasn't having that moment on this day. She was all about the exploration.

I tried for one picture of brother and sister but again, neither was having it.  I can't get them both to look at the camera at the same time for anything.

Either way, they both ended up having a great time and I imagine next year will be even more fun.  Unless Graham has another moment. ;)

Weekend Review

Loads going on this weekend, some to help prepare for next weekend and some just because.  Friday, Addie and I had a mommy and me night and met my parents out for dinner.  Saturday, I was busy working on the crafts for Addie's party I mentioned last week.  Plus, Addie and I attended a baby shower and a birthday party. Busy I know.  Sunday, Addie had developed a cold so she was a bit whiny.  On top of those top four teeth breaking through, she was a monster!

We're now 5 days and counting down to the big numero uno!  Tomorrow I'll give you more details of my pregnancy with Addie and reveal some details you probably did not know about me.

Weekend Planning

It's Friday!  Friday is my favorite day of the week.  It's the last day of my workweek until I get to see my sweet baby girls face all weekend long.  Lucky for me, I have a 3 day weekend.  As we approach the end of the year I have to burn through my time off so I'm taking random days and who doesn't like having Monday off?!  So for my long weekend here are my plans:

I have a big Pinterest project that I've been itching to get at and if I complete this and it comes together, it'll be huge.  My biggest project.  And that sewing machine, a family friend gave me hers and it looks brand new though it's probably a 30 year old Singer.  Cannot wait to master sewing!

My Weekend Snapshot Project

Remember from Thursday's post my list of photoworthy opportunities I wanted to catch of this weekends activities?  Well I didn't do too bad.  To remind you, here is a list of the photos I wanted to catch:

Weekend Recap

I got a lot done this weekend!  I'm so proud of myself and it feels great to have so much accomplished.

I had Friday off from work since it was Addie's 9 month well check which is why you didn't hear from my Friday.  I will post a 9 month update tomorrow when I'm finished writing.  I didn't say I got a lot accomplished on the blog, you know.

You'll remember from Thursdays post I wanted to take a lot of unique fall like photos.  I was able to do some of those and will have pictures from them later this week once I get organized.

On Sunday we took a trip to the pumpkin patch.  We snapped several shots of Addie with the pumpkins.  She's an inquisitive lass so we didn't capture any smiles from her.  It takes a lot for her to be impressed enough to smile.  Here's a shot to keep you warm until I get this weeks posts together.

Fall: It Really Is Here!

Yes, readers it's mid October and I finally feel like fall has arrived.  We've had some interesting weather in Ohio so the temperature has finally started to drop and it's feeling more fall like every day.  We're in the midst of football season and I've had about 10 pumpkin spiced lattes (PSL) from Starbucks since they've come out just over a month ago.  You'll remember from my last post about fall that this is my favorite time of year.  This weekend we're going to a bonfire Friday night at my parents house as well as a family reunion for the hubs' side of the family.  Both events take place out in the country so we'll have the opportunity to see loads of fall scenes.  My list of fall related things to capture via photo is:

I keep talking about finishing my Pinterest projects and I keep procrastinating finishing the project.  Well you can't finish something if you haven't even started.  So I plan to start on the yarn wreath I've been drooling over here.  I guess this means I need to go to the craft store to buy the wreath!

Can I just start this post by apologizing?  I don’t know what my problem is this week but I haven’t been motivated to do anything.  Well I am, I’m being a bump on a log but I’m going to change that.  I’m going to get back to my weekend planning, become better at cleaning the house and becoming a doer.

Not bad, as you can see Friday was a total bust.  I plan to make the applesauce later this week since it's a really quick process doing it mid-week is very possible.  I really wanted to go to Oktoberfest as well and it just didn't work out.  We actually ended up having some close friends over for drinks so maybe next year we'll make it to Oktoberfest.

Saturday we went to breakfast at an Amish restaurant we love and stuffed ourselves.  We then rushed home and I threw together an apple cake recipe since I still have a lot of apples from our apple picking trip.  Addie did great at her first tailgate.  We were there for about 6 hours and she was the life of the party.

Sunday I started one of my fall projects but I'm not quite finished.  I have a few pieces to finish and then I'll give you a post specifically for the project. 

Next weekend I'm hoping to get more done though I have more going on so we'll see how next weekends planning goes.

Weekend Recap

Thankfully this was a short work week so the weekend met up with us quicker than usual.  Friday, the hubs and I stayed in and watched The Ghostwriter, not so great a movie.  Saturday we got to watch The Ohio State University Buckeye football team play.  We had some great seats, thanks dad!  Saturday evening we had some friends over since our friend Dan was in town.  Dan is a med student currently on rotations so we only see him once ever couple months so when he's town we really like to get together.  Sunday was spent doing the usual, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. We went up to my parents to visit which has become a Sunday tradition.  We don't get to see my parents too often since they've moved a little further north.  AND, we spotted a tooth slowly poking its way through Addie's gums.  Here it comes again!

 So we told you about our weekend plans here.  To keep us honest let's see what we actually got accomplished versus our original plan.

I think I can be happy with this. The biggest thing I wanted to accomplish I, unfortunately, did not get to and that was cleaning out the fridge.  I'll be honest it's been months since I've done this.  Now I don't mean get rid of old jars of barbeque sauce that have been sitting in there unexpired.  I actually do that as I go which is surprising.  I'm talking about a serious scrub down which is needed more often than every few months.  You can bet you'll be seeing this task on Friday's weekend planning list.

Unlike last week, I hope I get a little more accomplished this weekend.  Last night we had our good friends Mary & Rob over for enchiladas so I did some quick cleaning before they arrived.  The house still needs a serious scrub down since I had a itty bitty baby during spring cleaning time.

I have to say I was about 50% successful.  I have a lot that still needs done around the house and it's driving me insane that I haven't accomplished much.  Saturday night when we were out with my parents the Union County Airport was hosting a balloon show so around 6:30 about 15-20 balloons took flight right over the restaurant we were eating at on the patio.  It was fun to watch, Addie showed no interest!  On Saturday I also noticed Addie has her first tooth making a presence.  I still need to catch a picture of it though the girl hates when I try to look in her mouth.

 

Sunday I added a few things to my list that we weren't expecting to do.  There's a family farm about 15 minutes east of us that grows apples, peaches, squash, pumpkin, raspberries, etc.  Each week I receive their newsletter via email and each week I read it and say I really want to go and check out the new Farmers Market so this was the day to do it.  I'll post pictures about it later as well as a little surprise baby food making from one of the items I picked up.  I also took Addie's 7 month pictures which reminds me I need to do a monthly recap and post.

I Love Blog Hops

As the title would suggest, I love blog hops!  Seriously, connecting through other blogs via hops is probably the best way to get more followers.  I only hop with topics I enjoy (Tasty Thursday, Wordless Wednesday, etc) and you connect with other blogs you are interested in.  So when I stumbled upon Molly at My Happy House's new blog hop, Weekend Planning, I knew this was one I wanted to participate in.  You see, I have all of these ideas, lists, and in general things to do in my head but oftentimes it's nice to actually list those out so I can visual see and check off what I've accomplished.  It feels great to mark a line through my lists.  You can connect through Molly's hop and link up with other blogs here.
