Product Review & Giveaway: Uncommon Goods

It's that time of year when I should be getting my final shopping done in time for Christmas.  It never fails though that I leave something until 2 days before and I'm scrambling to find one last gift. Each year I plan to do better and each year I fail.  Luckily, I found a company that offers so many unique and affordable gifts for everyone on your shopping list.  Uncommon Goods is a "privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people."  Most products are created in the US and half are handcrafted!

I'm really loving that you can also have gifts personalized.  I'm looking to get Rick a gift, but I want to step it up a bit and have it personalized.  You can check out some of those gifts here.

I, or should I say, Addie & Graham had a chance to try out some of Uncommon Goods products.  Addie tried out the Nursery Rhyme blocks you can find here which she just loved!  Every time she grabbed a block she'd say, "what does this one say?".

And Graham?  He got to try out these sweet Babiators.  My little Carlos!  You can find the babiators here.

How stinking cute is he?

Uncommon Goods make its easy for you to find gifts in your price range.  Most of the gift exchanges we do are $50 limits so I can easily check out Uncommon Goods' section of gifts under $50 here to get some really good ideas for our exchange.

Here comes the part where you get really excited!

Giveaway Uncommon Goods is offering one of my readers the chance to win a $50 gift certificate!

How to Enter  Just follow the instructions in the Raffelcopter widget below.  Make sure you complete the first task as it is a mandatory task.  Once you complete the mandatory task, all other tasks are optional but do increase your chances to win! Open to US & Canada only. The giveaway is open to all and will close at midnight on Monday, December 16, 2013.  Good Luck!

Throwback Thursday: Flipping the Bird

My first chunky baby at 6 months old.  Flipping off her uncle.  The interesting piece is she now points with that finger.  We're teaching we don't point with the middle finger.

My Graham is chunking out but not quite at the same pace Addie did.

And he's yet to flip us off.  There is still though...

Winter Maxi

So it's going to be a warm 60 degrees today in Columbus in December.  Yes, I said 60 degrees.  In Columbus.  In December.  Amazing!  So I wanted to wear my maxi skirt to work and this is what I came up with.

Jacket - Old Navy (old)
Tank - Old Navy
Skirt - Old Navy
Scarf - Groopdealz
Bracelet - Groopdealz
Boots - Kohl's (LC brand)

Clearly I have a passion for Old Navy clothing. I'm sure it's all those great deals they have.  None of this is new but right now I'm in love with a lot of the designs they have out.

What's the weather like where you are now?

ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas

If you're like me, you love watching those Christmas movies.  My particular favorites are the cheesy ones on Lifetime.  A love story and a Christmas story combined into one?!  Yes, please!  So here's a list of ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas.

ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas movie line up 2013

Pay close attention to Saturday, December 14th...The Little Mermaid!!!  Clearly not a Christmas movie but I'm so excited for that one!

Happy viewing!

Thankful for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  I countdown to Thanksgiving like a lot of people countdown to Christmas.  All the food you get to eat and all the leftovers, scrambling to search through the black Friday ads and make a Christmas list, and then black Friday shopping has always been a tradition.  The past several years I haven't been doing any black Friday shopping because I didn't really need anything from those deals for anyone.  I'm sure as Addie & Graham get older we'll be doing those early morning trips.

Even being my favorite holiday, I do the same thing I forget each holiday.  I forget to take pictures.  It's sad.  I'm making it my goal each holiday moving forward to capture one family photo and one photo of the kids.

We're also planning to bring out the Elf on a Shelf but I haven't decided how much I want to put into it.  I think Addie is still too young to get it completely so I don't want to waste any good ideas just yet.  I think we'll wait until next weekend to start it and we'll keep it simple by moving him around the house.  No crazy shenanigans just yet.  We did bust out the Christmas tree and Graham is mesmerized!

I love this picture.  He stared at the tree for nearly 30 minutes.  That's a record!  Such a nice weekend, I did a lot of shopping but still have about half to go.  How was your Thanksgiving?  Score any good deals?
