Easter Basket Ideas

I started thinking about ideas for Addie's Easter basket weeks ago because I knew last year I was running around last minute.  I've been purchasing random pieces over the past month and last Friday finally finished off the basket.  A few pieces are splurges and I wouldn't typically spend money on bigger ticket items, but I did this time around and made up for it with the remaining Target dollar spot purchases.  I managed to purchase all of these items including those bigger ticket items for under $30!

Everything in the basket is from Target.

My splurge items were the sheep ($5) and the hooded robe ($14.99).

Here's a rundown (again, everything was purchased at Target):

Sheep - $5
Hooded Towel - $14.99
Sesame Street Board books - $1 each ($2 total)
Mini duster & dust pan - $1
Plastic Sandwich bags - $1
Fork/Spoon - $1
Sidewalk chalk - $1.92
Shovel & trowel - $1 each ($2 total)
Bug net - $1
Total - $29.91

What items did you find to fill your children's baskets?

Frugal Find: Very Jane Jewelry

By now, my loyal readers know that I'm frugal and I'm sure you can each appreciate being frugal when necessary.  For some reason, I find I'm most frugal when it comes to accessories.  It all gets so expensive, the belts, scarves, necklaces, watches, etc, etc, etc.  So one of my new favorite frugal sites for accessories is Very Jane.  For example, just yesterday I purchased these items:

watch, Michael Kors, Geneva, jewelry

The watch is one I've keeping my eyes open for a while now.

bubble, necklace, jewelry, fashion

I already purchased the bubble necklace in turquoise and loved it so much I decided to purchase it in gray and coral.

I'm so tempted to buy these as well.

necklace, jewelry, fashion

fashion, socks, boots, fall

Those boot socks are super cute for fall.  Let's see if I can hold out.

Frugal Find: Bubble Necklace

I'm having a mild anxiety attack over this deal.  I've been looking for these necklaces for months.  It all started when I found this necklace at J.Crew.  At $150 I had to pass, even if I could take that 18k gold and turn it into one of those cash for gold places.  So when I stumbled over this steal, I couldn't pass it up.  I've already purchased the turquoise and I'm really trying to hold myself back from purchasing another 2 or 3.

I'm dying over the yellow and light pink one...who am I kidding, I could rock all of those!  Check out GroopDealz, which is where you can get this great steal!

Frugal Find: Penny Nail Polish

Have you heard of Julep Maven?  It's a boutique nail salon where you get a monthly box of nail polishes for a low monthly price of $19.99.  The best part?  If you don't like the selection they choose for you, you can request a different box or even put your box on hold.  The customer service at Julep is AMAZEBALLS as my Bravo favorite Bethenny Frankel would say.

Here's what else is cool about Julep, you take a style profile quiz and at the end they tell you what style profile is most likely you and pair you against polishes they think best suit your style.  If you don't care for the colors they select for you, you're able to choose another box of different colors.  I was rated by Julep Boho Glam which would have gotten me a neon peach and key-lime green color plus their amazing Pedi cream.  I wanted to do something a little different so I ordered the Classic with a Twist box which got me a robin's egg blue and juicy, watermelon red color plus the Pedi cream.

Okay, now pay close attention.  Your first box of Julep Maven is only $0.01!  That's right 1 penny!  You can call to cancel right after ordering if you're not interested in the monthly supply but I have to tell you when I got my box I was super excited and impressed.  The colors are amazing!

So sign up here to take advantage of the introductory price of $0.01.  Just enter the code PENNYINTRO and enjoy!
