Ohio State Fair 2013

One of my absolute favorite times of year is going to the Ohio State Fair.  The food.  It's really all about the food.  So Friday evening we headed over to the fair with the thought that most of the night we'd be taking Addie back and forth to all the rides.  That didn't turn out as planned.  First we headed over to the petting zoo.  She wanted to feed them french fries.

So we headed over to the kiddie rides fully expecting to spend our entire night in that area but quickly found out that Addie is about 2 inches shy of riding nearly every ride solo.

I love those little pigtails.

She spent the entire ride trying to touch the water, I imagine this is what she's doing.  There must be water in that gator.

The other ride she was able to ride was this motorized bumper boat ride.

She spent most of the ride spinning in circles but she loved it.

I always forget to capture the food pics but we did manage to get these somewhat family pics.

I love this picture of us.  She's just chilaxing watching the helicopter take off.

It was 8 when we left and Addie was getting restless, but she quickly livened up when she heard the music playing.

She's got moves like Jagger!

Easter Project & A Delicious Video

Easter is just around the corner, literally a couple days away and this may be one of the most exciting holidays for us.  Not really because it's Easter, though I love Easter, but because Addie is finally getting it.  She loved the Easter bunny and keeps talking about him and the "Eastah eggs".  It's going to be so much fun watching her see her Easter basket and do the Easter egg hunts.  I've been thinking about fun Easter projects Addie could do and I found one I, and Addie loved!

So here's the spread.  The paper was from IKEA.  I highly suggest anytime you go to IKEA you grab a roll, or two of this for your kids.  They can paint or draw on it and you can use it if you're worried about a mess.  The paint is acrylic from your local hobby stores, qtips as a mini paint brush, and the egg carton was from, yes the fridge.  The paper eggs were from the IKEA paper mentioned above that I cut into the shape of eggs.

She immediately got into it.  Very serious about her painting.

Now that delicious video I told you of.  Out of nowhere, Addie said this the other day.  

We've been trying to get her to repeat it so this morning I said, "Addie, is your smoothie good?" and she said, "No, delicious!".  Hysterical.  Where she learned the word delicious, we have no idea, but we love it!  Happy Friday!  Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Cracking Up

What's cracking us up lately? Addie is hysterical.  Listen to that laugh.  I don't know how she figured out this laugh but it's popular in our house now.

And the white stuff on her hands is lotion, this baby has some seriously dry skin!

Cheer Me Up

Because it's Friday I'm going to offer you a couple videos and keep it simple.  The first I'll post now for you.  There have been several mornings when I've been on my 20 minute commute into work and I've flipped out the alternative station and heard my new favorite song on the radio.  It's guaranteed to lift my mood and leave me singing it all day long.  So because today is Friday and it's looking a little gloomy in Ohio, here's a song to lift my mood and hopefully yours.
